7 -13th October 2013
This event in 2012
was the best yet and was won for a third time by Bradford. In
conjunction with local media 4 restaurants were chosen to represent
each city and then scored by judges to make up 40% of the marks. The
balance of the marking depended on submissions from city councils and
tourist offices to create a total. Previous winners are 2001 London
West : 2002 Glasgow : 2003 Glasgow : 2004 Bradford : 2005 Birmingham
: 2006 Glasgow : 2007 Leicester - 2010 Glasgow - 2011 Bradford. If
you wish to nominate a town or city please email vote@fedrest.com
.
The Poppadomathon offers a chance for everyone to get involved in National Curry Week. It is fun, even healthy, and will be a great support to the Find Your Feet Charity. If you can manage 100m - running or walking - and can pass a poppadom without breaking it then this is for you and your friends. You may even become a record holder for 2013. Check it out here.
If you want to run a fun Great British Curry Quiz at home, at school or for your customers if you run a restaurant or pub, we will supply the questions and answers and other information free on request to groveint@aol.com or 020 8399 4831. We have several 20 question sets with full confidential answers so a quiz is easy to run either by a quiz master to a group or using a QI panel style for an audience to watch. What easier way of having fun and raising money?
Many pubs all over Britain offer a special curry night once a week with a special 'pint and a curry' package giving real value for money. In 2013 we will be asking pubs for the first time to get their customers to vote at vote@fedrest.com giving the name and location of the pub to determine the Curry Pub of the Year. Alternatively pubs can collect their own votes and submit them in bulk as long as they have individual names and contact emails in the event random validation may be required.
If you run a sports club such as non league football, rugby, tennis etc, why not link with a local Indian restaurant and have a fun Curry Night at your club and raise money for charity and the club. If you want to make it a Quiz Night we will supply the food and sporting quizzes. Contact groveint@aol.com or 020 8399 4831
Every year the
record has gone up including last year 2012. Have we reached the
limit? Can you, your staff or your customers create a new record- or
just have fun?
How fast can you eat a standard, restaurant size poppadom - or to be more accurate, how many can you eat in their entirety in one or five minutes? Are you up for a challenge and help raise money for charity? (click her for details)
A speed challenge
for the kitchen. How many samosas can you produce from pre-prepared
filling to wrapping and cooking in 10 minutes with customer taste test.

from customers will win the title for 2013. Customers can send their
vote by email at vote@fedrest.com

30 September 2012. In recent years we have received over 250,000

around just to try it? Submit your restaurant's signature classic
dish via DVD or CD to take the title for 2013 plus recipe and photo
no later than 30th September 2013. Email groveint@aol.com for further
