NATURAL & MAN-MADE DISASTER INFORMATION The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed and one-third is starving. There were 923 million hungry people in the world in 2007, an increase of 80 million since 1990, despite the fact that the world already produces enough food to feed everyone - 6 billion people - and could feed double - 12 billion people.
